Potty Training is a Disease

*WARNING* This post is about poop again. So if you really don't want to read about poop yet again on my blog you had better stop reading now.*

There are few things in life that I hate more than potty training. For the last 18 months we have been trying to potty train Cruze. It has been one of those things that well has made me feel angry, sad, excited and at times happy. Our problem has been that Cruze can go without accidents, he just doesn't want to. He will wait until we put a pull up or diaper on him for bed and he will poop. Every night without fail this has for at least the last 9 months. He is one of the most stubborn kids I know. He is very smart and he knows what mom can and can't handle. Every time I would ask our Pediatrician he would say don't worry about it until he is 4. So I have been biding my time. My sister who has the same dr. asked him the other day about it, because we have not been in for Cruze's 4 year appt. yet. He said that you need to put them in underwear period. And not just put him in undies but if he has an accident he has to clean it up too. He is 4! I don't want him cleaning it up, then there will just be a bigger mess for me. I was thinking we already have done that. He does okay, but he meant at night too. What? I mean why if he isn't completely potty trained while he is awake would I put undies on him for bed. I would have to be stupid. IS he actually certifiably crazy? He has to be, I absolutely do not want to be cleaning up poop, pee and bedding in the middle of the night, or in the morning every morning. I wanted to cry and have a panic attack all at the same time. But I also know that nothing else has worked and as long as Cruze gets a pull up at night he will poop in it. So we started last Friday. He has not had any accidents at night. He does just fine. He has pooped in his undies from Friday until yesterday. My mom had the idea to bribe him with going to eat at Arctic circle and playing on the toys. Between that and the threat that if he pooped in his pants again he would lose his special blanket for the night he pooped 2 times in the potty since yesterday. So as of right now we are winning the power struggle that is our life with him right now. I'm glad he can't read, because if he knew I was winning he would poop his pants again. Thanks for listening as our battle rages on.
